"See you again, yesterday"
For those of you that have read the book "Me Talk Pretty One Day" by David Sedaris, you pretty much know what I have been going through recently. I'm currently living in Germany and have been taking introductory language classes. I've finally gotten enough courage to speak German with the locals when I'm out and about and am pretty sure I've made a complete fool of myself and said some pretty ridiculous things.
Here are a few examples:
What I wanted to say: "I feel smarter already."
What I actually said: "I feel up the rain shower."
What I wanted to say: "No thank you, I'm just browsing."
What I actually said: "No, I just test."
What I wanted to say: "I would like a spicy doner kebab, please."
What I actually said: "I would like a sleep doner kebab, please."
The crazy thing is that people actually understood what I was trying to say (except for that whole feeling-up-the-rain incident.)
I'm happy to say things are better now. I had to get a professional picture taken for my CV and I managed to speak to the photographer without saying anything completely out of context...as far as I know. I must say I felt pretty invincible after that.

Miss you!!!
Hi Hanna,
welcome! :)
I'm sure you can't make more mistakes in Germany than I made when I first came here! The worst was the phone. I HATED picking up the phone. Worst case I would talk to someone with a southern accent and not understand a word they were saying...
Hope you're getting a traineeship or job in Germany soon!
