Any suggestions?
I always hate it when I'm about to finish a book that I really love. Right now I am reading "The House of the Spirits" by Isabel Allende. The way Allende tells the story of this Chilean family is quite unique and addicting. I feel totally engrossed by the story and I know I will be a bit said when it ends.
If anyone has any suggestions on which book I should read next, I would love to hear them.

perhaps you will like "if on a winter's night a traveller" by italo calvino. it is my favorite
I've actually read that one already. Great book. Any other suggestions?
The Kite Runner-Khaled Husseini
A Bend in the River-V.S. Naipaul
The Farming of Bones-Edwidge Danticat
Elegant Universe
I'm reading the The Fountainhead right now by Ayn Rand. I went into it thinking I'd hate it, but it's actually growing on me. There are 700 pages and it's taken me 6 months to get 500 pages into the book...but that's just 'cause I'm not a consistent reader. Anyway, you should look into it!
the house of the spirits is such a wonderful book! it actually ruined a vacation in tuscany i took a few years ago-i was so into the book, i paid no attention to anything else! i missed most of the sights, fun and food-but i read the book at least once a year.
allende's book "paula" is really great too. really emotional! check it out.
loved it so much i read it in english and spanish. i suggest...salman rushdie's 'shame' or graham greene's 'the end of the affair'.
